Akash Deep became India’s 313th Test cricketer. Akashdeep was seen touching his mother’s feet to seek her blessings before hugging her while the rest of his family expressed their gratitude to the almighty in an emotional moment. Akash Deep then posed for pictures with his family. He got his test cap from his mother , it was pleasing moment , everyone out there was applauding for congratulatory gesture.

Hailing from Sasaram in Bihar, Akash Deep wanted to play cricket but was discouraged by his father. He left for Durgapur with the pretext of finding a job and found support from his uncle.
He went to a local academy where he started gaining prominence for his pace. However, his father had a stroke, and two months after his death, his elder brother passed away.
There was no money in the house and he had to take care of his mother. This forced him out of the game for three years. He spent these years trying to reconstruct his life but realised his cricket dream was too big to let go. He returned to Durgapur, and then eventually moved to Kolkata, where he rented a small room and lived with his cousin.
Then came the Bengal Under-23 team. And then a Ranji Trophy debut. Then he got picked up for  RCB. Today, he makes his Test debut for India in front of his mother. What a remarkable journey he came through .

How Akash got a maiden call up

Akash Deep received a maiden India call-up for the remaining three Tests against England. The BCCI announced Team India’s squad for the remaining three Tests of the series against England, with Bengal pacer Akash Deep earning a spot to face Ben Stokes‘ men. This inclusion marks a significant milestone for the 27-year-old, as Akash Deep got a maiden call-up to the Test team. He was the only new face in the Indian squad from the first two Tests, replacing Avesh Khan.

Akash Deep got rewards for his regular performance in domestic cricket  and series of India A .His standout performances for India ‘A’ in the recent unofficial multiple-day series against England Lions, where he took 13 wickets, might have caught the attention of selectors, helping him earn a first call-up to the senior squad.

With 103 wickets in 29 first-class matches that included two Ranji Trophy finals, Akash Deep has emerged as a reliable and skilful bowler. In the Indian Premier League, the bowler currently plies trade for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Akash Deep is inspiration to budding cricketers

Born on December 15, 1996, in Dehri, Sasaram Bihar, Akash Deep’s passion for cricket was evident from a very  young age. Despite facing initial hurdles and a lack of encouragement from his father, he remained steadfast in his pursuit of the sport. In 2010, he made the bold decision to leave his hometown and move to Bengal, where his uncle supported his aspirations of becoming a cricketer.
