Dinesh Kartik and his inspiring journey in IPL

Dinesh Kartik started his career at the tender age of 18 ahead of Dhoni and before the juncture of IPL.

Like everyone, he had roller coaster rides till now and he inspired millions to stay calm while running against the stream. his journey is a milestone for all. In the Year 2004, A promising young wicketkeeper from Tamil Nadu state of India named Dinesh Karthik made his debut for the Indian cricket team. His cricket life was taking off and in 2007 he married his childhood friend Nikita Vanzara.

Dinesh and Nikita were very happy in their married life. Dinesh was also captaining the Tamil Nadu team in the Ranji Trophy. His special friend was the opener of the Tamil Nadu team, who later became a part of the Indian team, Murali Vijay.

So one day Nikita met Dinesh Karthik’s teammate Murali Vijay. Murali Vijay liked Nikita. Innocent Dinesh Karthik could not realize this. The closeness between Nikita and Murali started increasing and within some time both of them started having an affair. Both started meeting openly. Apart from Dinesh Karthik, the entire Tamil Nadu team knew that Murali Vijay was having an affair with his captain Dinesh’s wife Nikita.

Then came the year 2012. Nikita became pregnant. But then she said with a bang that this child is of Murali Vijay. Dinesh Karthik broke down. He took divorce from Nikita. The very next day of divorce, Nikita married Murali Vijay. And after just 3 months they had a child.

Dinesh Karthik went into depression. He started becoming mentally ill. He was not able to easily forget this betrayal of his wife and friend Murali.he became drunkards. Started drinking alcohol from morning till evening. He put himself in . He was dropped from the Indian team. He was also failing in Ranji Trophy.

The captaincy of Tamil Nadu team was taken away from him. And Murali Vijay was made the new captain. The period of failure did not stop here, he was not included in the team even in the IPL. He also stopped going to the gym. In the end Dinesh became so desperate that he even started talking about committing suicide.

Then one day his gym trainer reached his house. He found Dinesh Karthik in a bad condition. He caught Karthik and brought him straight to the gym. Karthik refused but his trainer did not listen to him.

Indian squash women’s champion Deepika Pallikal also used to come to the same gym. When he saw the condition of Dinesh Karthik, he along with the trainer also started counseling Dinesh Karthik.

The hard work of the trainer and Deepika started bearing fruit. Now Dinesh Karthik was on the path of improvement. On the other hand, Murali Vijay’s game was continuously going down. Here Murali Vijay was dropped from the Indian team. Later, seeing his poor form, Chennai Super Kings also showed him the way out of the IPL.

On the other hand, with the help of Deepika Pallikal, Dinesh Karthik started practicing vigorously in the net. Its effect started becoming visible and Dinesh Karthik started scoring big scores in domestic cricket. Soon he was selected in IPL and was also made the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders. He had come very close to Deepika Pallikal. He married Deepika.

According to the age of cricket, Dinesh was now old. Now Rishabh Pant had arrived in the Indian cricket team, Karthik understood that now his career was almost over. He decided to retire from cricket. Here his wife Deepika Pallikal became pregnant and gave birth to twins. Deepika also stopped playing squash.

Deepika and Dinesh Karthik wanted to have a bungalow in Poes Garden, an upscale area of Chennai. In 2021, he got an offer to buy a palatial house in the same area of Chennai. Dinesh decided to buy it. Everyone was wondering that when both Deepika and Dinesh are almost out of the world of sports, then how will they complete such an expensive deal?

Then Dinesh got the information that Mahendra Singh Dhoni from Chennai Super Kings wanted to see him back in the team as a wicketkeeper. The 2022 IPL auction has started. But this time instead of Chennai, Royal Challenger Bangalore bought him. Dinesh’s wife Deepika also started playing and just six months after the birth of their twins, she won the women’s doubles mixed doubles title at the World Squash Championships in Glasgow. His partner was Joshna Punappa.

Dinesh Karthik was also energized by his wife’s success and association with the new team and he started performing wonders in the 2022 IPL. He played match-winning innings one after the other and was considered the greatest finisher of this IPL. In the match held just the day before yesterday, he scored 30 runs in 8 balls with the help of three sixes. When Dinesh reached the dressing room at the end of the match, Virat Kohli bowed and paid him respect.

Dinesh Karthik has challenged  the biggest contender to be included in the Indian T20 team. At the age of 37, Dinesh Karthik was the most explosive player of this year’s IPL and still performing like pro , he played 38 runs inning in just 26 balls at IPL 2024 on opening match that played between CSK and RCB .
