KL Rahul-led visitors thrashed South Africa by eight wickets in the opening One-Day International at the Wanderers here on Sunday. In Pink Dress South Africa faced a formidable challenge in the first ODI against India at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. The Indian bowling attack, spearheaded by Arshdeep and Avesh, proved to be a relentless force, decimating the South African batting lineup with precision and skill.

From first ball from Arshdeep South africa was looking to start it well with banging 6 in first delivery but again all SA team  Reeling at 116 All Out in 27.3 Overs. Having elected to bat first, could not withstand the Indian pace assault and crumbled to a meager total of 116 all out in just 27.3 overs. Kuldeep Yadav, the Indian spinner, put the final nail in the coffin by bowling out Nandre Burger, polishing off the last wicket with a well-flighted delivery that slipped through his defence.The scorecard reflected a dismal outing for the hosts, with none of the batters able to mount any significant resistance against the disciplined and aggressive Indian bowling.South Africa’s previous worst score at the Wanderers was 164 against Pakistan in 2019.

Arshdeep kept selectors  faith high by taking 2 top order wickets in 2 balls he took  new ball advantage in style and collapsed top order of south Africa , The left-arm pacer, delivered an exceptional performance, claiming five wickets in a display of swing and seam movement that left the South African batsmen struggling for answers. His ability to extract extra bounce and swing was particularly devastating during the Powerplay, where he managed to secure the wickets of Reeza Hendricks and Rassie van der Dussen in two consecutive deliveries, setting the tone for the innings.Avesh Khan also complemented Arshdeep’s efforts brilliantly, tormenting the Proteas further with his pace and bounce. He too showcased his talent by taking four wickets, just one shy of what would have been a memorable five-wicket haul. Together, Arshdeep and Avesh dismantled the South African resistance, leaving them reeling at various stages of the innings.

Fall of Wickets  & India’s Bowling Brilliance

South Africa’s Inning Witnesses Regular Tumbles. – Nandre Burger the Last to Fall, South Africa All Out for 116. when South Africa was looking in good momentum, Arshdeep departed Zorzi (28) on the fifth delivery of 8th over, as he was caught by KL Rahul. Arshdeep Singh departed Klaasen on the very last delivery of 10 the over as he hits his stumps.

Following this, Avesh Khan departed Proteas skipper Aiden Markram (12) on the very first delivery of 11th over and then dismissed Wiaan Mulder for a golden duck in the next delivery. He then picks up wicket of David Miller (2) on the last delivery of 13th over and following this, departs Keshav Maharaj (4) on the first delivery on the 17th over. This is the fourth wicket for him too.

Arshdeep Singh delivers his last over and picks up the wicket of Andile Phehlukwayo (33) via LBW on the very first delivery of the 26th over. This is his 5th wicket for him.Kuldeep Yadav was brought back to finish off the Proteas’ innings and he does with his trademark style in the 28th over by breaking the latter’s stumps and SA’s innings comes to an end.For SA, Andile Phehlukwayo (33) scored the highest runs, followed by Tony de Zorzi (28 runs). Apart from these two players, no other batsman could cross the 15-runs mark.

India’s Target Chase

Chasing 116 runs India shown better composure against Protease , Sai Sudharsan (55 not out) and Shreyas Iyer (52) then struck fine half centuries to chase down the target in 16.4 overs for the loss of two wickets.India and South Africa handed debut caps to 22-year-old top order batsman B Sai Sudharsan and bowling all-rounder Nandre Burger respectively. India stands tall again against South Africa, It is one of the strongest performances shown by the dominant Indian cricket Team in One day cricket, The first ODI match between India and South Africa is played at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.  South African skipper Aiden Markram won the toss at The Wanderers and decided to bat first against KL Rahul-led Indian team. Arshdeep Singh departed Hendricks and Dussen in the second over, as both the batters failed to open their account and India defeated South Africa by 8 Wickets. The first ODI match between India and South Africa is played at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. After closing the T20 international series on a strong note, the young Team India is facing South Africa in the ODI format of the game today. KL Rahul is leading the Indian cricket team in the absence of senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The South African team is also pretty young with Aiden Markram at the helm.
