Divya Raghavendra Rao, Co-Founder & MD of The Rameshwaram Cafe, is a qualified Chartered Accountant with a post-graduate degree in Finance and Management from IIM Ahmedabad.

How the journey began

Divya’s journey into the food industry began during her post-graduate studies at IIM Ahmedabad, inspired by case studies on global food chains.

Motivated to introduce traditional South Indian cuisine globally, she collaborated with Raghav, who sought her financial advice for his previous restaurant venture.

Despite initial family resistance, Divya and Raghav successfully opened Rameshwaram Cafe in 2021, choosing the name as a tribute to APJ Abdul Kalam.

Raghavendra and Divya enforce stringent guidelines for food quality and ingredient selection to maintain consistency across all their chains.

– The prohibition of baking soda
– Exclusive use of pure ghee without blending with oil.
– Preparing fresh batches of batter and chutneys multiple times daily
– Avoiding the use of refrigerators for a consistent taste experience.
