Shipra walking lonely on foot to cover Ram Van Gaman Path
Many people in the world keep travelling all over the world but there are very few people who extensively travel and connect it with some purpose, in India you will find such wanderers who do all the travelling, some on foot and some by bicycle with the only purpose to protect the environment. Shipra of Uttar Pradesh has set out on one such journey.
Shipra from UP Badaun Started her journey to cover the Ram Van Gaman Path on foot. On her way to this journey, she will cover 4000 Kilometers covering Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamilnadu.
Who is Shipra Pathak
Shipra Pathak, living in Badaun Dataganj, Uttar Pradesh, started her journey on foot from Ayodhya. The path on which Ram walked with Sita and Lakshman after exile. Shipra is walking alone on them. After completing the journey of 1300 kilometers, she has reached Jabalpur and will now go from Madhya Pradesh state towards Maharashtra.
Shipra, who already covered the Narmada Parikrama three years ago, says that there is no fixed route for Ram Van Gaman Path. I made a map based on the signs mentioned in Ram Charita Manas and decided to walk on that basis.
The four thousand kilometer long journey started from Ayodhya and now she reached at Jabalpur where she came across through the cities of Uttar Pradesh cities Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj and Chitrakoot.
Ram Van Gaman Path
As per Ramayana, Lord Rama through his wandering years traveled from India to Sri Lanka. During his ‘Vanvas’ or exile, he was not allowed to stay in any village or town and live his life in a forest. Owing to this, after leaving Ayodhya, Lord Rama wandered through the forests of Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. and Sri Lanka
Describing the purpose of the yatra, there is no definite route to cover the Yatra but i have chosen few sign from Ram Charita Manas and it will be significant if i am covering all the jungles enroute . Shipra says that the Ram Van Gaman Path should remain green like the Ramayana period it was . I am traveling so that there is no cutting of trees there. Though We have saved his birthplace by building the Ram temple, but the forests where Ram spent their whole 14 years will also have to be saved. There is no forest left in many places.
Shipra says that Mother Sita had walked through this path before i travel to . It is with her inspiration that I have decided to complete this journey.
Shipra has walked 1300 kilometers in 34 days
Shipra started her journey on foot from Ayodhya 34 days ago. She has traveled 1300 kilometers so far. She has set a target to complete the entire journey in five months.She told that in her journey so far, the densest forests she had found in Madhya Pradesh only. She Traveled throughout her journey in dense forests in Madhya Pradesh Umaria, Shahdol, Amarkantak.
Shipra says she has no specific destination to stay so she walks all day and in the evening she rests for the night in a temple or ashram in route .
