New Delhi: Anjum Ara, mother of India’s star fast bowler Mohammed Shami, was taken to the doctor after complaining of dizziness on the morning of the India vs Australia ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final being played in Ahmedabad. The bowler’s family was about to go to Ahmedabad to watch the final, but due to the sudden deterioration of his mother’s health, she had to be hospitalized. Anjum, who had prayed for her son to become a world champion a day earlier, was taken to the hospital after feeling nervous and dizzy.
According to media reports, only his elder brother Haseeb and his family have been able to go to Narendra Modi Stadium. A day earlier in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, his mother had prayed for her son and the Indian team to become world champions. According to reports, she has been taken to Supertech Multispeciality Hospital in Moradabad on the complaint of nervousness and dizziness. However, doctors say that there is no serious matter. She will be discharged soon.
Earlier, while talking to news agency ANI, Anjum wished her son all the best for the big final against Australia and said that God should make Shami successful. The video was shared by the agency on microblogging site X, hours before the start of the game at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
In the video she was seen saying – He is making the country proud. May God make him successful so that he can bring the World Cup home. Shami is on fire in the ongoing World Cup 2023. Despite being out of the first four league matches, he has taken 23 wickets in 6 matches before the final. So far he has taken five wickets thrice and four wickets once.
He wreaked havoc against New Zealand in the semi-final in Mumbai earlier this week and recorded the best bowling figures for India in ODIs. Shami took 7 wickets for 57 runs in 9.5 overs, helping India bowl out the Black Caps for 327 runs and reach the grand finale of the tournament.
