After the conclusion of the second test, it was anticipated that the team for the third test would be announced and The BCCI announced Team India’s squad for the remaining three Tests of the series against England, with Bengal pacer Akash Deep earning a spot to face Ben Stokes’ men. This inclusion marks a significant milestone for the 27-year-old, as Akash Deep got a maiden call-up to the Test team. He was the only new face in the Indian squad from the first two Tests, replacing Avesh Khan.

Avesh Khan will join Ranji Trophy
The Madhya Pradesh pacer had been part of the squad for the first two Tests but hasn’t played any test till now . The board released Avesh Khan to take part in the Ranji Trophy; however, according to media reports , the state side expected Avesh to be named in the Indian squad and hence didn’t select him for the match against Baroda (already underway since February 9).
Shreyas Iyer, who had batted at his No 4 spot in the first two Tests, was also not included for the remainder of the series after a poor run across the first two Tests. He also failed to get going in the two-Test series in South Africa, and speculations currently doing the rounds on social media paint a story of the Mumbai batter getting dropped from the side after a string of poor performances.
Virat Kohli is not a part of this seriesÂ
Virat Kohli has informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the senior national selection committee that he is withdrawing from the remaining three Tests of the five game series against England.Kohli informed the BCCI about his availability on Friday, the day selectors met in an online meeting to decide the squad for the Tests at Rajkot, Ranchi and Dharamshala.
considering his privacy BCCI has approved Kohli withdrawal .
KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja have been included
Both KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja have been included in the squad for now after missing the Vizag Test due to injury, and their participation in the remainder of the series remains subject to clearance from the medical team. Also getting included in pacer Mohammed Siraj, who is likely to return to the XI in Rajkot after being rested for the second Test as a precautionary measure.
