Why Japan is frequently hit by earthquakes

Japan is frequently hit by earthquakes because of its location along the “Ring of Fire”, an arc of volcanoes and fault lines in the Pacific Basin. Moreover Japan sits at the confluence of four major tectonic plates. It is one of the most seismically active areas on Earth; the country accounts for about 20% of global quakes of Magnitude 6.0 or greater, with seismometers recording some kind of event every five minutes on average.

The abundance of volcanoes and earthquakes along the Ring of Fire is caused by the amount of movement of tectonic plates in the area. Along much of the Ring of Fire, plates overlap at convergent boundaries called subduction zones. That is, the plate that is underneath is pushed down, or subducted, by the plate above. So how it is creating a tremors frequently in Japan and most of the countries like Indonesia .

Japan has very strong monitoring system

Japan Geographically lies on seismic zone where earthquakes are frequent things in everydays course of action and it is the reason they own  updated earthquake monitoring system . meteorological agency of Japan is working on six stage layer where they monitor every bit of second . Tsunami warning system also work under same agency . They announce any warning or information regarding Major Earthquake or Tsunami within a minute in whole Japan . It is major reason  that Japan receive very  less damage of lives and goods even after hitting so strong and Powerful earthquake as compared to other countries lies on seismic zones .
